Summer Experience

When I pulled up to my first high school football practice I was exited at first. The grass on the field were perfect green blades. The goal posts was perfectly painted bright yellow. The whole field and practice field were squeaky clean. The sky was blue with perfectly shaped clouds. It wasn't cold and it wasn't hot it was perfect weather. When I walked in to the gym I realized that I was early because the lights were off and I was the only person there. Next, I met my coaches for the first time. I hoped that I would like them because I knew I was going to be spending the next four years listening to them tell me what to do. As I firmly shook each of there hands I realized that this was a group of men that I would work hard for and listen to. As some of the older, tall, bulky linemen walked in some of my excitement turned into fear because I realized that I would have to face kids this size. This motivated me to hit the weight room so that I could gain some weight. I

The Golden Compass

Over the summer I read The Golden Compass . The reason I chose to read this book is because I heard it was similar to the Narnia series. I enjoy reading these type of books because of the adventure and the magic that takes place in the plot. In this book there is more than one setting. I enjoy this because as the book goes on you get to learn more about the different races and cultures in the story.           Also, the way this book explains the characters feelings and thoughts is super interesting. The author makes you want to keep on turning the page. The theme in this book was to never give up on those close to you. This theme is something very important that we need to do better in our world to day. The Protagonist in this story is a brave, young girl named Lyra. Lyra has the power to control a very powerful mystical item, but must practice her skill to understand this powerful artifact. All in all this book is a action packed, magical, mystery. This is a good read for a

Baseball

Baseball            By the time I was two years old I was in love with the game of baseball. My parents tell me as a baby my first word was "ball". Coming from a family full of athletes made this passion that I had and still have for the game no surprise to anyone.           By the time I was three I was playing tee ball. All I can remember about tee ball is that going to the YMCA to play a game of ball made me the happiest three year old on earth. A little later on I started to play coaches pitch. This is when I really developed a love for the feeling and sound the baseball made when coming off of my aluminum bat. Next, I decided I wanted to pursue my talents as a baseball player by trying out for a team named Marucci Elite. I was so exited when I made the team because I worked so hard to do so. It was later on in my baseball career that I realized baseball was not all about who could hit the hardest or throw the fastest, but it is more about who is the most mentally pre

Summer Reading response blog

Hello fellow bloggers. Over the summer break I read The Golden Compass and Friday Night lights. In this post I am going to tell you a little bit about Friday Night Lights by Buzz Bisenger. I chose to read this book because I enjoy anything involving football and I heard this book was full of football. This story takes place in Odessa, Texas. Odessa is a tiny town only known for its amazing football. This book includes the ups and downs of the Odessa high school football players and coaches. To me what makes this book so interesting is how it goes into tremendous detail about each persons life and problems. This book also includes the town of Odessa's problems and blessings as a whole. This book was full of excitement and surprises. Each page was fun to read. This book can also be inspiring to many people because of the way some of the characters figure out their purpose in life. Even though this is not a true story it is based on real events. All in all I recommend this book to all
