               I chose style, tradition, and culture for my reading topics. I chose these three topics because I felt like they would have the most information in the book. I also chose them simply because they would just be interesting things to learn about. These three topics can contribute a lot to a book because they normally are a major part of the setting. So far in the story there have been a handful of of times where tradition, culture, and style have been shown.                                Style, culture and tradition are very unique in this story because the africans have there own special things in many ways. It has been very interesting to learn about so far. When the daughter asks her mother to do her hair a certain way is a good example of style. When the story and the characters talk about the food they eat it very much so shows their culture. Finally, when their family and the whole community go to church tradition is showed.

               I chose to do my analysis on "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. This is a well know southern rock song that show a conversation between a mother and her son. The mother in the song is basically telling her son all of the things that will help him to be a good person throughout his life. This song uses ballad, slant rhyme, connotation, and lyrics. These elements are what make this song such a good tune.                              I would I identify this song as a ballad because it tells a story. The story being told in this song is a mother telling her son how to be a good person and how to succeed in life. The mother asks her son to be a simple man and to do thing such as praise god. In the song slant rhyme is used very often. A few examples of this slant rhyme is when the song says young and sun, fast and pass, man and understand, and gold and soul. All of these words are examples of the slant rhyme in the son because they don't fully rhyme but they sound

              I recently took a family trip to Colorado.  This was my third time to visit the mountains and  I've decided that snowboarding is one of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy snowboarding because of the feeling it gives you as you are going down the mountain, the constant challenge to go on harder trails, and how fun is is to hit the slopes with your friends. There are so many things make snowboarding  amazing! For example, snowboarding wouldn't be snowboarding with out the beautiful white powder that covers the ground or the massive mountains of rock or the pine trees.                The feeling that flying down a mountain on a snowboard gives you is like no other. Your body is full of adrenaline because you know that if you turn the board an inch in the wrong direction you will face plant. Even though boarding is intense,  it is also relaxing, because it feels like you are floating on a cloud. The challenge of wanting to ride a harder trail or land a new trick keeps you

A couple of my favorite presentations were the It Girl, The Blue Mind, and the presentation on LSD. I enjoyed learning about all of these topics because it is new information that you would never cover on a normal school day. These topics caught my eye particularly because they are all things that I have heard a little bit about before but didn’t know too much about. You could tell that these presentations were well thought out because the had very clear powerpoint presentation and specific information.              I enjoyed the It Girls presentation one because all the beautiful girls and their interesting clothes. It is interesting how they were able to gain such large fan bases off of just looking good and posting pictures. The next presentation that I enjoyed was The Blue Mind Effect. I enjoyed this presentation because I was really able to relate to the feeling of the blue mind to my own life. The presentation states that when you are near water you are more
