Thesis response

A couple of my favorite presentations were the It Girl, The Blue Mind, and the presentation on LSD. I enjoyed learning about all of these topics because it is new information that you would never cover on a normal school day. These topics caught my eye particularly because they are all things that I have heard a little bit about before but didn’t know too much about. You could tell that these presentations were well thought out because the had very clear powerpoint presentation and specific information.


            I enjoyed the It Girls presentation one because all the beautiful girls and their interesting clothes. It is interesting how they were able to gain such large fan bases off of just looking good and posting pictures. The next presentation that I enjoyed was The Blue Mind Effect. I enjoyed this presentation because I was really able to relate to the feeling of the blue mind to my own life. The presentation states that when you are near water you are more relaxed and you brain functions better.  Finally, I enjoyed the presentation on LSD because of the video of the girl on LSD trying to eat her hot dog.  This was really funny to me because she thought the hotdog screamed when she tried to eat it!

          I don't really remember hurricane Katrina because I was only two years old. However, people often tell me how brutal and horrific it was and how devastating it was to the city and people of New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina is one of the five deadliest hurricanes in history with 1,833 fatalities. It took place from august 23, 2005 to august 31. The wind speeds got up to around 175 MPH. Katrina was the costliest atlantic hurricane in history. All the rain from the hurricane caused the levee in new orleans to break and flood this is what caused most of the deaths. Harrison Bergeron

     Harrison Bergeron is a teenage genius who is seven feet tall. Harrison is extremely handsome. The year in this story is 2081.In this story the united states government tries to create equality among people both physically and mentally. A man called the handicapper general is in charge of doing of making the citizens equal. He does this by installing a "handicap" into the citizens heads. The handicap makes them all equally intelligent.      To the united states government of 2081 Harrison Bergeron is a major problem because he cannot be controlled by the government. Also, how is he supposed to promote equality as a seven foot fourteen year old with super model looks. In the story Harrison escapes his prison and infiltrates a live tv show with ballerinas. While on the show he makes out with multiple different girls and portals that he is above every one else. new semester reflection

Three thing that I learned in the fall semester that I can use in the spring semester are that tutorial is a very important and useful time, take good notes so that when exams come around you are prepared to study, and to use your time wisely especially while participating in afterschool activities. If you don’t use your teacher’s knowledge at tutorial you are more likely to make bad grades. During the first quarter I came to a realization that high-school is a big step up. So a good way to adjust to this step up is to create ways to help success like setting reminders and setting goals. You can set reminders on your laptop using the reminders app or using the calender built into your computer. You could also use a paper calenderer to keep track of your stuff. These are two techniques that I use to try to help me to remember to do my work. My goals for this semester are to make As and Bs while participating in baseball.
